There's an old joke which I like: How many cops does it take to throw a suspect down a flight of stairs? Answer: None, he fell. Look for my post regarding the award you presented with tonight and for the meme you tagged me with last week. I will be proudly displaying the image with my others. I feel better now and I am going to write again. It’s a good thing I had a lot of material already prepared. Thanks again. -MikeMichael J. I just found it funny when I thought of "Ned" and the word "brilliant" in the same sentence. I have a few more tales of the stupid, and one or two of them invlove cops. I have a tale involving me...and I don't come off sounding too bright in this one...and maybe I'll post it here one day...MAYBE. Let's just say that I pulled a real rookie maneuver. lol. In the format here, I don't want to have to relive some of the more dangerous situations I encounterd. My wife was so glad the day I left that she forced me to go to school and change my profession completely. I know work in the computer field at a college here on Long Island. I started in the Informaton Technology Department, and now I work directly for the Dean of Academic Affairs working with databases and portals, etc. The last time I checked, he never robbed any elderly couples. I love it, and I never have to deal with the likes of Ned again. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I have to visit your blog to see what's up. Have a great weekend. -Mike.Michael J. The theory is that A) who would be stupid enough to call the police on themselves? B) The police will believe anything they are told because they are gullible and C) If you call the police first and tell a bigger lie, then you must be the one telling the truth. These are urban myths for the moron class of law breakers. This was my first interaction with one of its practitioners. I'm glad you enjoyed this tale, however lengthy. I tried to trim it down, but it had to be told this way. Besides, even my responses to comments are wordy. Haha. Thanks Antibarbie. -Mike.Michael J. It's always good to make a robbery arrest, especially when the victims are elderly. It looks good on your activity report. Thanks for reading, Kristyn, I'm glad you enjoyed this one. -MikeMichael J. This one is a bit "light" as you said, but the other stories I have are too gory and painful for to bring up at this time in my life. Perhaps later on, but I lost a few good friends and saw some good people get hurt over the years. This guy "Ned" stood out because he was such a pure idiot who was bested in a fight against a couple in their nineties. I am glad you enjoyed the story. It's a true one, and like I said, the names were changed to protect the stupid. I don't like to tell stories which are particularly brutal or horrifying as they are too painful for me to discuss. I try to keep the more lighthearted police stories available for public consumption. The old couple depicted here were not traumatized by this incident, they were angry and indignant, and were proud of themselves for fighting off an attacker. Ooops, I'm rambling. Thanks again. Please drop by for more. have a great day. -Mike.Michael J.
